Musical instruments- Part 6, Clarinet

     Hi, guys. Good to see you again! Today, I am going to introduce a woodwind instrument, Clarinet. The Clarinet  is a woodwind instrument with a single-reed and a cylindrical tube, and it is used in various genres of music due to its soft tone and wide range, especially Bb and A Clarinets are common.      It is an instrument that controls the pitch by pressing a hole on a straight cylindrical tube with a pad and blowing a single- reed on the mouthpiece. It is the only wind instrument that makes sound by the vibration of air in the closed pipe.      The Clarinet is the only closed tubular woodwind instrument, so it has a unique tone and free and expressive control. Hence, it occupies an important position in the woodwind instrument like the violin.       The Clarinet consists of five parts divided into a mouthpiece, a barrel, an upper tube, a lower tube, and a bell. Musical instruments- Part 5, Horn

     Hi, everyone! Long time no see. Thank you for revisiting my blog! Today I will introduce the most extended instrument, Horn. As you can see, the Horn is an instrument that looks like a snail. It is the most extended instrument since the pipe's length is about 180cm~360cm. Isn't it surprising? There are two types of Horn. One is separable with bell and body, and the other one is inseparable.      The Horn is the brass instrument played with a mouthpiece. The shocking truth is that Horn's mouthpiece is the smallest in the brass instrument. Since its pipe is so long and the size of the mouthpiece, the Horn is tough to make a sound.       Basically, the Horn's pitches are very large. So that people can hear various style of music played by the Horn. The notes of the Horn is decided by which valves are opened or closed. Musical instruments- Part 4, Flute

     Hi, everyone! Thank you for revisiting my blog. For today's blog, I will introduce the oldest woodwind instrument, Flute. The Flute seems to be a brass instrument, but it is not. At the beginning of the Flute's history, it was made of wood. With the developments of musical instruments, the Flute also changed the material to make good sounds.       The flute can be divided into three parts, Head, Body, and Foot. The Head part, it contains the mouthpiece.   As the Flute is a wind instrument, it can make the sound by blowing the winds through the mouthpiece.       The Body and Foot part  has a key to block the tone hole. Depending on which keys are blocked, the pitch changes. There are two types of keys: an opened key and the other is a closed key. Usually, professional players use the opened key.      Finally, after  assembling the flute, it's about 65cm. Without a stand, the player holds the instrument in both hands and plays it.   Hello, everyone. It is good to see you on my blog again! I've introduced two brass wind instruments in the last two blogs. Today, I would like to introduce the Marimba, a percussion instrument. Many people know it as the instrument from Under the Sea, the OST of the movie The Little Mermaid. The Marimba  makes around dreamy sound. This is the Under the Sea played by the Marimba. Under the Sea played by the Marimba. This instrument starts with a four-octave instrument, from low to high, and has a range of up to five octaves, further expanding the low range. The Marimba is a percussion instrument, so it makes a sound by hitting the keyboard with a stick named Mallet.  The Marimba also  plays slow-tempo songs. In addition, it can be played by two people on one instrument and by one person holding two or more mallets.      Hi everyone! This is Hyeyoon PARK.  In my last blog, I introduced the instrument that I used to play. In this post, I would like to introduce the trumpet, a friend of the trombone. If you have seen jazz performances, you probably know the trumpet. In South Korea, the trumpet is well known as a sound that soldiers hear when they wake up.       The trumpet is an instrument with clear and sharp sounds. Trumpets usually play high-pitched ranges, but when it's playing mid- to low-pitched notes, it provides stable sounds to people. I majored in trumpet for a while. I think the trumpet is a very interesting instrument. The trumpet is also a brass instrument like the trombone. It is an instrument that plays with the wind blowing through the lips.     Hi everyone, this is Hyeyoon PARK. I majored in musical instruments when I was in high school, so I am going to share information about various kinds of instruments.  Did you know that there are so many different types of instruments in the world? Dividing the instruments into three main categories, there are wind instruments, string instruments, and percussion instruments. The difference between these instruments is different in how they are played. Wind instruments are mainly played by blowing with the mouth. Next, string instruments usually play strings with bows. Finally, percussion instruments include instruments such as bouncing strings or drumming.       The instrument I will introduce today is Trombone, the brass instrument among wind instruments. It's a grand and low-pitched instrument. The trombone is largely divided into the Tenor trombone and the Bass trombone. The two have different pitch ranges and differences in appearance.
